Brief introduction of:
Shaik Reismann
Shaik Reismann is the driving force and Chief Instructor behind Malaya Junglecraft, a wilderness-school based in Malaysia that blends traditional jungle living skills with hands-on adventure. After a storied career in polo, where he made national waves, Shaik followed his true passion into the forest — and founded his own bushcraft company to bring others into the wild.
Malaya Junglecraft offers a wide range of immersive programs: from beginner workshops to full-on wild expeditions. On their website, they host courses covering parang skills, fire building techniques, shelter construction, cordage and bindcraft, knife sharpening, foraging, small-game trapping, and even spoon carving. Their philosophy is deeply experiential: you don’t just watch — you build, you apply, and you test your mettle in real jungle conditions.
Set on a private four-acre orchard in Hulu Langat, Selangor, Malaya Junglecraft’s headquarters — known simply as The Orchard — offers a peaceful entry point into nature. The grounds feature a bamboo gazebo built with rattan lashing and a nipa-leaf roof, overlooking the river, and a garden buzzing with wildlife. It’s also used as a staging ground for overnight “Prep Camps” before heading off into deeper jungle terrain.
Shaik himself brings serious credentials to the table: he’s not only an experienced outdoorsman but also a certified Wilderness & Austere First Responder. That means safety and expertise are baked into every course he leads.
Beyond survival skills, Malaya Junglecraft also runs team-building events, junglecraft birthday parties, and even parent-child bushcraft clubs — proving that Shaik’s vision isn’t just about survival, but deepening people’s connection to nature.
At its heart, Shaik’s mission with Malaya Junglecraft is simple but powerful: to build confidence, self-reliance, and a genuine bond with the natural world. Whether you’ve spent your life in the concrete jungle or you’re already a seasoned adventurer, Shaik’s school offers a doorway into skills and experiences that feel rediscovered — rooted in tradition, but alive for today.
