Brief introduction of:

Project 'Food Plant Solutions'

In the 1970s, Mr. Bruce R. French, who is an Australian pastor and agricultural scientist, was living and working in Papua New Guinea. While there, he noticed that many villagers suffered from disease and malnutrition and that there were no books on the local foods of that country.

French therefore founded the organization ‘Food Plants International’ with the goal of documenting food plants around the world. As of July 2023, there were 35,103 edible plant species detailed on his website here. And he is introducing himself at YouTube there.

Rotarian Buz Green, of the Rotary Club of Devonport North in Tasmania (D9830) developed a relationship between ‘Food Plants International’ and Rotary to establish the ‘Food Plant Solutions’ project, which can be accessed at this link.
